Ladies Ironclad League Information
We want to know if a Ladies only Ironclad League is something we should do. Our current Ironclad League, which is coed, is aimed towards beginner-lower c skaters. While this is wildly popular for them, we may need to modify and do a mixed level version for the ladies only league. Please review the information, and fill out the form if you are interested.
League Information
Season
Each season will comprise ten regular sessions followed by a thrilling race to the cup, featuring an extended slot.
For the summer season, all participants will receive jerseys, shells, and socks. If this season proves to be as popular as our other leagues, players will have the option to join different teams or continue with the team for which they already have a jersey. Rental jerseys will also be provided for new players and substitutes.
Schedule -
HERE is an example of the current leagues schedule.
We won’t know what day of the week we will get until the rink releases it at the end of April.
Location
Polar Ice Wake Forest or Iceplex dependent on available ice. Most likely Iceplex
Cost
For the inaugural season, the pricing will be slightly higher due to the inclusion of jerseys, shells, and socks in the cost. However, pricing will decrease in subsequent seasons. We are actively looking for sponsors to help reduce the price.

Payment
We've introduced a variety of options tailored to fit any budget. Take advantage of AfterPay and our brand-new subscription feature now accessible.
Please note that the payment page will only go live once we've confirmed our decision. So, don't forget to complete the form to turn this plan into a reality.
Captains - We don’t have captains we have “War Chieftesses”
War Chieftess Responsibilities
Each team will be assigned a “War Chiefess” in lieu of “Captain.” The Chieftess is responsible for making sure that each and every player accepts or declines each session. Communicate with the MCHL staff as to how many subs are needed, if a goalie is needed. The Chieftess will be given an iron-on WC for their Jersey. This season, we will also be giving the sub jerseys to the Captain to hand out to whoever may be subbing that session. They will be financially responsible for these jerseys if they are not returned. At the end of the season, if the Chieftess has lived up to these responsibilities, they will receive a discount code for two free pickups.
Jerseys
Everyone must wear their team jerseys and MCHL-approved socks. We want to ensure the pictures come out great and make everyone look their best!
Participation on specific teams is guaranteed solely for those who have acquired custom jerseys. Players who haven't secured custom jerseys will be included in the draft process, except for the returning Captains. Teams without returning Captains will have one assigned from the pool of returning players.
In preparation for the upcoming season, custom jerseys are up for purchase. If you were part of a team in the previous season, you are exclusively permitted to purchase a custom jersey specifically for that team. This is the sole method to secure your position on that particular team.
Ice time
90-minute sessions
3 minute warmup before first two games of the session
12-minute mini-games.
30-second intermissions
Rosters
We limit each team to 8 skaters on each bench. This restriction ensures that teams are not too crowded, which in turn guarantees ample ice time for everyone. Please note that we retain the option to supplement your team with sub-pass players if needed.
Skill Level
Unknown until we hear from you!
Subs
Our goal is to ensure that substitute players don't overpower the game. Nonetheless, if a more skilled player on the team is unavailable, we'll aim to substitute them with someone of a comparable skill level. In the event that a substitute is needed because a less experienced player is absent, we might opt not to use a substitute. This would result in your team playing with one fewer player. Teams will be assigned subs based on Attendance, then rank.
Goalies
We aim to have the same goalies for the entire season. This won’t always be the case, but we will make every effort to find full-season goalies for each team. Please keep in mind that people have lives, stuff comes up and we will do our best to keep the parity as close as possible.
Penalties
Minor Penalties 1:30 minutes
Major Penalties 3 minutes
2 majors in a session will result in expulsion for the remainder of that session. The offending team will have the player who made the infraction in the box and a player down for the duration of that penalty.
Fighting will not be tolerated. It will result in immediate expulsion from the session. A review of the situation will take place to decide if a suspension is needed. MCHL reserves the right to expel from the league with no refund.
Race to the Cup games will have different rules to be announced at a later date.
Pictures and Video
Our sessions will be captured by a photographer and an on-ice videographer whenever we can. If you are a photographer and would like to volunteer or get a discount on league fees or free pickups by offering your services, we would love that, but it’s not required. You will also get access to the full Live Barn footage (as long as it’s clear). Plus, we have a new option to provide you with Live Barn video that tracks each player individually for a small charge.
Bench Coaches - We are always looking for players from the upper levels to come by and coach the teams. If you know someone that would be willing to come by and coach a session or two please reach out to Edward. The phone number is listed below.
Practices -
Practices are an available add on.
